Choosing a Coffin or Casket can be difficult, but it is an important decision and is a personal choice. We understand that your choice will depend on many considerations:
- The wishes and preferences of the person who has died
- Is the funeral a burial or a cremation
- Budgetary considerations
- Environmental considerations
- The shape, design and colour of the coffin or casket
A coffin is tapered at the shoulder and has a removable lid.
A casket is a rectangular shape and the lid is hinged on the side of the casket.
We offer a wide variety of coffins and caskets and encourage you to take time to make a choice that best suits your family’s needs.
In our display room, you can view a range of coffins and caskets or you may prefer to make a selection from photos. Caskets and coffins are suitable for either burial or cremation and vary from the elaborate to the simple, with many choices in solid timber, metal, particle board, custom wood and environmental cardboard. As well, special finishes and individually painted colours to cater for all types of funerals and individual requirements are available.
To personalise the coffin yourself, you may consider painting, decoupage, colourful stickers or decorations. Or you may invite friends and family to sign and write messages on the coffin either before or during the service.
The flowers we love can be an amazing expression of our personalities. Traditionally a large floral arrangement is placed on top of the coffin or casket, however you are welcome to choose any flowers you wish. We can arrange the flowers for you or you may choose to consult a florist yourself. Another lovely way for guests to say goodbye is for everyone to place a single bloom or petals onto the coffin. We can also assist if this is something you would like to do.
We have a beautiful range of urns, keepsake urns and memory boxes to keep precious remains safe. Our caring staff can assist by showing you many of the options we have available.
